Changes to London Bridge rail services in 2017
There will be closures and changes to services over weekends and bank holidays in 2017 as we continue to rebuild London Bridge station and the surrounding railway. Always check before you travel for any engineering work.
Easter and both May bank holidays
Network Rail will be carrying out work over Easter and both May bank holiday weekends.
Easter – Friday 14 April to Monday 17 April
May bank holiday – Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May
Spring bank holiday – Saturday 27 May to Monday 29 May
August bank holiday
Saturday 26 August to Saturday 2 September
Significant work will take place over the August 2017 bank holiday and the four working days after.
There will be no Southeastern services at London Bridge, Waterloo East and Charing Cross, which means there will be fewer trains into London and they may be diverted to different London stations.
You will need to change your journey so please keep this in mind when booking holidays and planning ahead.
Waterloo Closure
Between 5 and 28 August 2017, fewer trains will run in and out of London Waterloo.
This includes the busiest times of the day – the morning and evening peaks.

Christmas and New Year
Saturday 23 December 2017 to Monday 1 January 2018
There will be further major changes happening at Christmas, with no trains at a number of London stations. Passengers on Southeastern, Thameslink and Southern trains will be significantly affected.
Due to the work over this period, your regular journey may not be possible. Please start considering your Plan B in advance.
It might be time to start thinking of other options such as changing the time you travel, finding another route, cycling to work, or working from home. If you are organising this year’s holiday, keep these dates in mind.
For the latest information about these closures please visit ThameslinkProgramme.co.uk/2017, follow Twitter @TLProgramme or to receive a reminder on planned disruption, text TLP 7 and your home station to 60777.
