Register your venue or event for Make Music Day - 21 June 18
Kitsch in Sync, Make Music Day 2017 - London Bridge Station
Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 800 cities in 120 countries.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours into public spaces; from town squares to libraries, bandstands and school halls to arts centres and railways stations, to share their music with friends, neighbours, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
This year, Make Music Day UK will be coming to London in a much bigger way than ever before and there is an open call for venues and participants.
In particular, Make Music Day UK is looking for London Bridge venues to participate and host a performance. They do the hard work and find you a great artist, all you have to do is enjoy the show!
Sign up as a venue - if you’d like to host an event in a space that you own or manage, you can register your venue on the website then search for musicians in your area who are looking for somewhere to perform.
Organise an event - if you’d like to organise your own event, whether it be in a venue you use regularly, or in a new space such as your local town square, shopping centre or pub, you can register it on the website. Events can range from concerts and gigs to open rehearsals and participatory workshops.
Sign up as a musician - maybe you’re a band, singer or choir who would like to take part but have nowhere to perform. Register on our website and local venues can get in touch, or look into venues in your locality and contact them directly.
Attend an event - if organising or performing is not your thing, there are loads of events up and down the country that you can attend as an audience member or participant. Have a look at our interactive map to find an event near you. And if nothing appeals just yet, keep checking back as people are adding new events all the time.
